Impact of HITS on users in the dental school setting

Impact of HITS on users in the dental school

Health Information Technology Systems (HITS) have gained wide spread acceptance in North American Dental Schools. In the 1990s the systems were used primarily for administrative tasks and billing. Now they are being used for student evaluation and patient care functions (such as Electronic Dental Record). This study will use qualitative techniques to assess the impact of HITS integration into patient care on administrators, faculty, residents and students.
